First International Conference on intervention criteria S.20 Architectural Heritage

Belpart Madrid managed the organization of the first International Scientific Conference on Intervention Criteria Century Architectural Heritage 20, held in Spain during the days 14,15 and 16 June 2011.

The International Campus of Excellence Moncloa-Cluster-Heritage, in collaboration with the International Scientific Committee of the Century Heritage 20 ICOMOS-ISC20C were the organizers in collaboration with the School of Architecture of Madrid.

The Conference was, with architects, curators and specialists internationally renowned, as Álvaro Siza, Maristella Casciato, o Jean Louis Cohen.

Development

The consequence of having organized the International Conference on intervention criteria S20 Architectural Heritage, and the meeting of the scientific committee of ICOMOS ISC20 consensus was obtained from all participants to write, after the drafts that were presented throughout the year, Madrid Paper presented 16 June 2011 in the city of Madrid in a grand ceremony chaired by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Housing

MADRID GOALS OF DOCUMENT

The duty to preserve the heritage of the twentieth century is equally important that the obligation to preserve the heritage of the past relevant. The Madrid Document 2011 contributes to the correct and respectful of this important aspect of cultural heritage.

Even as application specific architectural heritage in all its forms, many of its concepts can be applied equally to other expressions of the cultural heritage of the twentieth century.

The Madrid Document considers other documents relating to heritage conservation. Identifies many of the issues related to the conservation of the architectural heritage and the relationship of the architectural heritage of the twentieth century with earlier times, both their similarities and differences in their.

The twentieth-century architectural heritage is in danger due to lack of appreciation and care. A part of it is already unrecoverable, and other, even more, the same risk.

It is a living heritage that is essential to understand, define, interpret and manage properly for future generations.

The document is intended for all those groups involved in the different processes of heritage conservation.

The report is supplemented with explanatory notes where they are needed, well as a glossary of terms.

The Madrid Document ISC20C ICOMOS presented at the XVII General Assembly of ICOMOS, held recently in Paris, the Madrid Document with the proposal to admit as ICOMOS doctrinal text. The Assembly at its plenary session on Thursday 1 December 2011 and resolution GA 2011/32 resolves that the Madrid Document start the way according to the rules of ICOMOS doctrinal text to recognize it as a meeting where it was resolved also consider Spanish as an official language alongside English and French.
