El Colegio Villakor colabora con UNICEF

On 13 de marzo UNICEF MADRID recibió del Villakor College una importante donación gracias a la generosa colaboración de familias y comunidad educativa de este magnifico colegio que forma parte, since many years ago, de nuestra red de Escuelas de UNICEF .

El acto tuvo lugar en el Colegio coincidiendo con la inauguración de la semana cultural del colegio, as it is traditional. The ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Alcorcón, The president of the Cooperative College Villakor, The Director of the College and members of the educational community, families and children gathered there.

Nevertheless, we can not settle or stop here. Millions of children around the world still need our help. Children who are victims of conflict, exploitation, abuse, natural disasters or extreme poverty. We are moved by the 16.000 children who die each day from preventable causes. We moved the crisis of Syrian refugees, which last year killed more than 1.000 Children who were trying to reach Europe with his parents across the Mediterranean. We moved that 43 million children right now need urgent humanitarian aid. We moved that 250 million women and girls are married before 15 years old.

These are just some examples that millions of children around the world need us. Despite the undoubted progress, now we can not stop.
