JORDI SABATES CHOMON PRESENTS SECOND SUMMER COURSES IN THE REPOSITORY

The composer and pianist Jordi Sabates act on Thursday 17 July in the summer courses organized by the Foundation of the Complutense University in El Escorial, where the 21,30 h at room Asturias Prince Felipe II EUROFORUM recreate the concert at Second Chomon.

Jordi Sabates play the music he has composed to present a selection of the films of Second Chomon ( Teruel 1871- Paris 1929) one of the great pioneers of Spanish cinema and yet so unknown to the general public .

Second Chomón has been one of the great creators of the film unfairly unknown despite having worked with the most important producers of the time located in Barcelona, Paris and Turin.

He was the author of one of the most important European filmographies of the early twentieth century. He collaborated in the realization of the most iconic films of the early cinema of visual experimentation and great epic scale, such as "Cabiria" (1914) John de Pastrone, and the famous movie "Napoleon" (1927) de Abel Gance.

He was the author of film prints of great beauty and variety of records, where dance and choreography emphasized especially humorous. One of the first precursor film "Titanic" and an ancestor flagship "King Kong" was made by Second Chomón.
